By day, by night
The grounds together, a suite to yourself.
Group life happens outdoors: the pool, the pool house, the chestnut trees. You get together because you decided to, not because the rooms open onto the same hotel corridor. In the morning, continental breakfast is served by the pool, included. No buffet at set hours.
There is no kitchen in the rooms. Do not plan on a “we’ll shop and cook” weekend. Lunches are offered, some dinners too, and evening barbecues. An outside private chef can be arranged on request — tell us when you book, with the number and the day, not at 6 pm the day before. On evenings without a table at the house, we book one in the village. Not every table in Gordes will take a group of twelve: that is exactly why you need to tell us early. For the evenings you split up, our three tables in Gordes — the bistro, the summer terrace, the grand table at La Bastide — are about ten minutes away on foot.
On Tuesdays, the market is a walk away, from 8 am to 1 pm. It is not a meal, it is the group’s morning. Other ideas for the day are on things to do in Gordes and, for forty-eight hours, on a weekend in Gordes.
No one cooks in their room, and no one has to keep everyone else’s schedule: one message with the names, the rooms and the arrival times is enough. We will not run a WhatsApp group for you. On arrival, one instruction for everyone: ring at the gate between 4 pm and 8 pm. There is no key box. If the cars are not arriving together, tell us: parking is on the grounds, free, and you are welcomed in person, not by a night desk. After 8 pm, let us know. The morning after the last night, check-out is at 11 am for every room, not room by room at different times. A group that wants one last coffee has it before leaving, by the pool, not on the road. Breakfast is the only shared schedule we set: it has no fixed time, but it has a place, by the water.
