The occasion
An anniversary that counts.
Twenty years of marriage, a milestone birthday, a date that deserves better than a restaurant booked the night before: the house prepares the occasion with you — and if it is a gift, our gift vouchers are valid for one year.
On the day
What the house prepares for you.
- Champagne or flowers in the room on arrival — just let us know when you book.
- Breakfast by the pool, included, with no buffet hours — the day starts by the water.
- Wellness treatments at the villa, arranged on site, without leaving the grounds.
- The evening table, booked by us in the village — a ten-minute walk, and nobody has to drive back.
The full schedule of a weekend for two: our romantic getaway in Gordes. Forty-eight hours on the village side: a weekend in Gordes.
As a gift
The gift you don't unwrap.
Nights in Gordes rather than an object: our gift vouchers are valid for one year, for one or more nights, a specific room, or a package put together with us — champagne in the garden, flowers in the room.
Wedding anniversary
Ten years, twenty years, the right date.
A wedding anniversary is celebrated as a couple, in a room, not in a function hall. The Chambre Provençale and the Chambre Fleurs are the rooms we offer couples: a wide bed, a bathroom, two and a half hectares (6 acres) of grounds on the other side of the door. The day begins by the pool. Continental breakfast is included, with no buffet hours.
Tell us the date when you book, not when you arrive. Champagne or flowers can be in the room at 4 pm, when you ring at the gate. Wellness treatments are arranged at the villa, in the grounds, with no transfer. In the evening, the table is in the village, about a ten-minute walk away: La Table de la Bastide for the date that matters, La Trinquette for a simpler evening — or another place if Jean-François knows of a free table that day. You walk back without a car. Check-out the next day is at 11 am — a lie-in fits; a third outing does not.
This is not a vow renewal, and it is not a wedding. We do not host ceremonies. If the question itself has yet to be asked, that is prepared separately, and quietly: a marriage proposal. If the anniversary is a birthday rather than a marriage, the same approach holds: the date, the room, the touch waiting in the room.
The day before matters as much as the day itself. Arrival between 4 pm and 8 pm, a first walk after 6 pm if the light holds, dinner with no plan. On the morning of the anniversary, breakfast has no buffet hours: you can stay at the pool house table. The afternoon can be a treatment in the grounds, or nothing. Nothing is part of the offer. The next day, check-out is at 11 am. Avignon TGV station is about fifty minutes away: leave with time to spare, because the room is not extended just because the date was a good one.
To give this stay to someone who will choose the date later: gift vouchers are valid for one year. Tell us the occasion, the amount or the number of nights, and whether the champagne should already be included or left to the choice of the person who comes. We do not list nightly rates on this page: they are on each room's page, for the date you choose.
On that day, the village keeps the same hours as on any other: before 10 am if you go out, after 6 pm if you walk down for dinner. An anniversary does not empty the calades (the cobbled lanes) at 3 pm in August. It does, however, open up the option of visiting nothing at all and letting the grounds set the program. Both are right. Tell us which you want by writing to villa.hautvallon@gmail.com, or by calling +33 4 90 72 92 54. The house answers, not a booking center.
A small group
A few rooms, not a reception.
When the celebration goes beyond two people, we add rooms, not a hall. The five rooms take up to twelve guests. The Suite des Marronniers (the chestnut-tree suite) sleeps four (95 m² / 1,020 sq ft, an extra-large double bed and two twin beds). The Chambre Duplex has two twin beds, for two friends. The rest are suites for two. You can take just two or three. If the grounds should be yours alone, the whole house can be booked together, on dates when all five rooms are free.
The rooms have no kitchen for guests. Breakfast is still included. Lunches, some dinners and evening barbecues can be planned with us. An outside private chef comes on request, if you tell us early enough for them to know the number and the day. We do not promise a caterer, a sound system, or a cake ordered on your behalf. A long table in the garden, yes, when it is on the house's program that day. Beyond that, the group — or part of it — dines in the village, and you need a table that takes that many.
A stay with friends, with how the beds are shared out, has its own page so the couple and the crowd do not get mixed up: Gordes with friends. Availability for all five rooms together is on the booking page.
Practical questions
Before you set the date.
Can we celebrate a birthday or a wedding anniversary at Villa Hautvallon?
Yes — tell us the occasion when you book. Champagne or flowers in the room on arrival, wellness treatments arranged at the villa, the evening table booked in the village: we plan the day with you. It is not a reception, and it is not a wedding.
Can we celebrate with a small group, more than two of us?
Yes, up to twelve guests and five rooms. Two or three rooms are often enough. If you want the grounds without other guests, the whole house can be booked together. The rooms have no kitchen: breakfast is included, meals can be planned, and an outside chef comes on request.
Can we give a stay at the villa as an anniversary gift?
Yes: our gift vouchers are valid for one year — one or more nights, a specific room, with or without a special touch in the room. Tell us the occasion and we will put the voucher together with you.
Which room should we choose for an anniversary for two?
The two rooms we suggest to couples: the Chambre Provençale (king-size bed in an alcove, large bathtub) and the Chambre Fleurs (55 m² / 590 sq ft, private terrace under the roses). Both open onto the 2.5-hectare (6-acre) grounds.
