A wedding in the Luberon

No weddings here, but your guests are welcome.

We do not host weddings or receptions. But if yours takes place in the Luberon or near Gordes, the house can sleep up to twelve of your guests — and welcome the two of you afterward, for the honeymoon.

What the house does

Rooms, a welcome, a slow morning.

  • Up to 12 guests in the five rooms, each with its own bathroom
  • Rooms one by one, or the whole house for your guests only
  • Welcomed in person, then the gate code and the key: everyone comes back when they like
  • Free parking on the property, the village of Gordes a ten-minute walk away
  • Breakfast by the pool, included in the stay

What it does not do

No venue, no party.

  • No ceremony or reception in the grounds
  • No party, caterer or outside suppliers on site
  • Never more than twelve guests: the house stays a place to sleep

That is what makes it restful the day before and the day after a long day. For anything outside this, write to us and we will give you a straight answer.

Twelve guests, five rooms

Five rooms, five ways to sleep.

The Suite des Marronniers (the chestnut-tree suite), with two bedrooms, suits a family; the Duplex and its twin beds, two friends, or the best man and the maid of honor. For staggered arrivals, one message with names and times is enough.

Wedding guests

12 guests out of twelve beds

  1. one extra-large double bed + two twin beds · 95 m²

A family of guests, with the children.

  2. one extra-large double bed · 55 m²

The parents of the bride, or of the groom.

  3. one extra-large double bed · 50 m²

    A couple of guests.

  4. king-size bed · 35 m²

The newlyweds, for the morning after.

  5. two twin beds, joined on request · 35 m²

The two best men or maids of honor, a bed each.

A suggestion, not a rule: tell us who is coming and we will plan it with you. A cot (€25 / night) or an extra bed (€60 / night) on request, in the Chambre Fleurs or the Chambre Histoire Naturelle.

The day before, the day after

Arrive the day before, leave without rushing.

Check-in is between 4 pm and 8 pm. To arrive later, tell us when you book: after 9:30 pm a €50 supplement applies, and arrivals after 11 pm are not possible. Arriving the day before the wedding takes the last-minute rush out of it.

The next morning, breakfast is waiting by the water. Check-out is until 11 am; the garden and pool are then yours until 4 pm at no extra charge. Keeping the room until 4 pm can be requested, depending on availability, for €50.

Getting here: Avignon TGV station is about 50 minutes away, Marseille-Provence Airport about an hour and ten minutes.

Then, just the two of you

A honeymoon in Provence.

The Chambre Provençale has its king-size bed in an alcove and a large bathtub; the Chambre Fleurs, 55 m² (590 sq ft), opens onto a terrace under the roses.

On request when you book: champagne or flowers in the room on arrival, wellness treatments arranged at the villa. In the evening, you walk down to the village for dinner. And a gift voucher, valid for one year, can be given to the newlyweds.

The house for two — and, a year later, your wedding anniversary.

Wedding questions

The wedding, seen from here.

Can we get married at Villa Hautvallon?

No. The house does not host weddings, ceremonies or receptions, and does not take parties. It is a guesthouse for sleeping: twelve guests at most, in the quiet of the grounds.

Can you accommodate guests of a wedding in the Luberon?

Yes. The five rooms sleep up to twelve guests, a ten-minute walk from the center of Gordes. They can be booked one by one, or all together so the house welcomes only your family and friends.

Can guests come back late after the party?

Yes. When you arrive, we hand you the gate code and the front-door key in person, so everyone comes back when they like, mindful of the other guests’ sleep. Parking on the property is free.

And the day after the wedding?

Breakfast is served by the pool and included in your stay. Check-out is between 8 am and 11 am; once you have left your room, the garden and pool are yours until 4 pm at no extra charge. Keeping the room until 4 pm is possible on request, depending on availability, for a €50 supplement.

Is Villa Hautvallon a good choice for a honeymoon?

Yes. The Chambre Provençale (king-size bed in an alcove, large bathtub) and the Chambre Fleurs (55 m² / 590 sq ft, a terrace under the roses) are made for two. Champagne or flowers in the room on arrival and wellness treatments at the villa can be requested when you book.
